First Week of School!!

Hello Preschool Families!

Nice job on your first official week of school! All the preschoolers did wonderful! There were hardly any tears, in fact this bunch of kids might have been the most excited to start school we've seen yet! Everyone was happy, excited, and bounding with enthusiasm to be starting a new year of preschool. Parents did an awesome job too with the morning routine. Everyone had inside shoes for their child to change into, and lockers were stocked perfectly. Don't forget that in the morning, after your child signs in their name, they put their name tag in the color bucket of whichever group they are in; this is a way for teachers to know who is here for the day, and also we use them for learning activities during our small group time!

Lunchtime has also been running pretty smoothly. Don't forget, every lunch needs to include protein, fruits, veggies, and a whole grain, and keep in mind portion sizes! Lunches do not have to be super large. The children have a substantial snack in the mid morning AND in the afternoon, so no one will ever go hungry at school! Here is our post about portion sizes if you need a quick reference:Preschool Lunch Portions

Next week we will dive more into our content as many of the children should be getting used to school rules and routines by then. We kick off the year with an "All About Me" theme! The children get to compare and contrast themselves now to how they were as a baby, as well as take a look at all the ways they have developed. We will also celebrate the students individuality and learn about likenesses and differences, as well as build some important beginning of the year skills and a sense of family in our school. We will implement this unit by using language arts, math, and social/emotional activities.

I will leave you with some cute smiling faces that were captured these past few days. Check back for more fun photos to come!!!
