Dino Pics & May Calendar

Greetings Families!

We just wrapped up our Dinosaur unit and it was a total blast! As always, it's amazing to see these little brains so hard at work, and it was cool to see how enthusiastic everyone was to learn about dinosaurs. Here are some fun pictures from the theme:

Elle and Dominic doing the 'Dinosaur Stomp':

Here are some Yellow Group kids with their fossil they made. They named it "Long-tailedasaurus":

The kids got to learn about Fossils and about the team of people it takes to dig them up. They practiced digging up their own "fossils" out of chocolate chip cookies using toothpicks!:

And in the midst of all the Dinosaur fun, the kids got to have fun with some VIPs, and we even got to take advantage of some pretty beautiful Duluth days!

It will be easy to slide on into the end of the school year now that May is around the corner. I'll leave everyone with the May calendar:

April Calendar

Greetings, Everyone!

As usual it's been busy-busy around here! We owe a HUGE thank-you to the dads who volunteered their time so that the CCP teachers could attend Kelly's mom, Mary's funeral last week (you can view Mary's obituary here). Andy Weyrauch (dad of Sam), Sean Burns (dad of Cullen), and Jeff Vanstratten (dad of Elizabeth), all subbed in at the preschool, and the kids could not have been more thrilled! The teachers were impressed to see how clean and orderly the school was upon our return, and we were extremely grateful to be able to support our dear friend Kelly during such a hard time.

This past week was Easter/Spring week so we did a lot of fun activities with eggs! The preschoolers got to participate in an egg drop where they became scientists and invented ways to protect their eggs from being thrown out of the loft. Everyone had a blast with this activity, and it was impressive to see these little brains hard at work!

And of course April Fool's day was this week, so we HAD to do some pranks on the children (AND parents!! haha). Patti progressively became more injured as the day went on, we declared preschool as not being closed, we switched out preschooler's lunches with one piece of broccoli, AND Patti baked some cupcakes with "flies" inside! The children were great sports throughout the day and everyone left for home smiling!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter break! Any holiday we get to spend time with our children and loved ones is precious, so I hope you all have a happy and healthy break. School resumes on Tuesday, April 7th, and I'll leave you with the rest of April's calendar.
