Meet Cora and Patrick

Hi everyone!
I wanted to introduce you all to two students who began working at the Preschool twice a week through the Duluth Public Schools' Bridge Program; Cora and Patrick. The Bridge Program is a really neat tool for students ages 18-21 to get support after their high school graduation in living and working in the twin ports community. Through the program, Cora and Patrick come into the preschool twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays to help the preschoolers out during the lunch hour.

Cora is a super sweet 19 year old girl who grew up in Duluth. She lives on a farm called Prancing Ponies (http://prancingponiesmn.com/). Cora has experience working with children through her church nursery, and she also works at Northstar Edison School doing lunch duty and kids club. She says her favorite movie is "Buck" and her favorite food is "Pizza". The kids have already fallen in love with her!! Please introduce yourself to Cora next time you see her.

Our other helper is Patrick. Patrick is a 19 year old boy who is also from Duluth. Patrick went to East High School where he said his favorite class was "gym". He loves going on family trips to Canada, and he is really passionate about paleontology. Patrick also works at Sammy's Pizza in lakeside. Patrick says his favorite movie is "The Lion King", and his favorite food is "pizza". Patrick is really good at making the kids laugh and they all just love him! Make sure you say "hi" to him if you see him around the school!!

Picture Day

Dear Parents,

Please note that picture day has been scheduled for Tuesday, September 30th & Wednesday, October 1st. Both days pictures will begin at 9:00am and run until 11:00am. A full school group shot will be taken at 11:15am. If you would like to receive pictures, but don't happen to be scheduled for preschool Tuesdays or Wednesdays, please feel free to come in for pictures. I should add, our pictures will be taken by the talented Amanda from JaneCane Photography!

September Pics

Greetings All,

 

 

The school year has been off to a great start. The first few weeks of school at Preschool are typically full of quite a few tears from kids getting used to their new environment, but I have to say, we've been off to an exceptionally smiley start to the school year. Seriously. It's been slightly strange. Good strange. But hey, we'll take it! I'm convinced it's a sign to what a marvelous year we are all going to have together.

 

Almost everyone has turned in their take-home work from the contents of their folder that was received at the parent meeting. If you haven't sent in your child's baby outfit yet, please do so ASAP! Also as a reminder: note that our school hours are 7:30am-5:00pm. (Any late pick-ups will be charged a late fee.)
