{March Calendar & Feb Pics}

Hello Everyone,

Can you believe it's March already? The year is flying by. Our February Outer Space unit was a blast. I am blown away at all the things the children learned about space, and at how much they were able to comprehend about our vast universe. I'm sure many of your children came home talking about galaxies, planets, and elements of the Earth; and if they didn't, ask them about the planets in our solar system and I'm sure they will have things to tell you. Aizley's mom, Sarah shared an awesome song with us that the kids just loved, so if you'd like to sing it with your child, check it out here:

Here is sweet Abigail creating her own planet. Hers included dust particles, clouds, and storms:

And here are some yellow group girls practicing using a telescope for when they want to do a little star-gazing:

March brings us a new theme to focus on: the Creative Arts. Preschoolers are extremely creative by nature, so we are really looking forward to watching them shine and stretching their creativity. We are always looking for volunteers, so if you have a creative talent that you'd like to share with the kids, please set up a time with one of the teachers to come in and present.

I wanted to also make a quick note about extra clothes. The weather has obviously been extremely snowy and cold, and the teachers have noticed that the students have been in need of extra socks and pants at school. Here is a picture of some fun in the snow up at Old Main:

Conference sign-ups will begin next week, so don't forget to pick your time!!

Warmest Regards,

Ms. Jakki

President's Day & Planetarium

Hi there!!

I just wanted to throw out a quick reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 17th for President's Day.We are however, open the rest of the week where as I know the public schools will be closed.

We are taking the kids on a field trip to the UMD Planetarium on Friday the 21st in the afternoon. Volunteers are needed because we will be taking the bus one way, and we would like to keep our ratios to 1:3. If you would like to take the trip with us, please sign up on the sign-in table.

Our Valentine's Tea Party was a huge success! Check back soon for some party pictures!

100th Day Pics

Hello everyone!!

Well, we finally made it to the 100th day of school, and what better way to ring it in than in our PJ's! Our 100th day of school celebration turned out to be a huge success. The students got to examine their 100 items that they brought in and we saw everything from legos, to marshmallows, to stickers! The kids had fun weighing their items and comparing them with their friends. We also celebrated our 100th day with stations in the gym. The children had to do 10 stations, 10 times. We had the bouncy house, the slide, hockey, basketball, building blocks, the trampoline, the sit-n-spin, soccer, tunnels, and bikes!

Here's Margot scoring some soccer goals:

The Blue Group had an awesome time being in their jammies and decided to make forts with their blankets. They were caught chillin' in these:

And everyone knows you can't have a party with out cake!!:

Miss Patti had sumo wrestling set up to do in the bouncy house. Who do you think won the match between these two??:

Now that we are 100 days smarter and 100 days older, we'll begin our countdown to summer, and for some that equals prepping for kindergarten! Woo hoo!!

Stay tuned for more fun pictures to come!!
