-*-February News-*-

Hi Everyone,

Happy February! We want to give a quick reminder that the 100th day of school is on Thursday, February 6th; we will celebrate this by having a 'party' day surrounding the theme of 100. We will also ring in the 100th day in our pajamas! We are going to do two pajama days that week so everyone will have a chance to partake in the fun: Wednesday the 5th as well as Thursday the 6th.

Don't forget to send in your 100 items. A letter attached to a ziplock bag went home asking you to help your child find 100 items of something to bring in to school and share with everyone. Once everyone has submitted their 100 items, we will compare, sort, weigh, and analyze all our findings.

CCP will be hosting a Valentine's Day Tea Party on Friday the 14th. This is a fun event in which the children perform a couple of songs on the stage, and then have an opportunity to party with their guests! The party beings at 2:00pm with refreshments being served, and this year Ms. Elicia had the fun idea of setting up 'Minute to Win-it' stations around the school, so come ready to compete! We will also be having a photo booth, so please mark your calendars and invite friends and relatives!

Please note: CCP will be CLOSED on Presidents Day, Monday, February 17th.

Information regarding Valentines Day treat exchange will be going home shortly, so stay-tuned for that! We will also be posting PLAY PICTURES soon, so keep checking back!!

Also, we wanted to let everyone know that we've decided to add two weeks of a Winter Olympics theme to our February Calendar, so we won't begin talking about outer space until the last half of the month.

Warmest Regards,

CCP Staff:)

New Teacher!

Hey guys!

A letter went home introducing our newest addition to the CCP staff: Kelly Chastey!! Kelly is from here in Duluth. She went to East High School and also graduated from UMD with a degree in Secondary Education. Kelly and her husband, Barry, have three awesome kids who go to school at Lowell in Duluth. Kelly will be working with the red group on M/W/F, and Ms. MaryJo will be working with the red group T/TH.

Also, I wanted to share with you these "cool" pictures we have from Sam Berry's V.I.P. Sam's dad, Steve, works at UMD in the Chemistry department and brought in some great supplies to make homemade ice cream for all the preschoolers. Check it out:

The previous post has information in it regarding the preschool play so double check it if you are having any questions about it. I've heard a couple concerns about costume making, but don't stress! If you choose to dress your child as a Thneedville person, think futuristic. Plastic-y...bright colors....wacky hair....etc. You could also have your child dress like a Barbaloot Bear, or the Once-ler:

Once again, please come to us with any questions!

{Important Play Information}

Hello everyone!

The preschoolers have been busy working and getting ready for our upcoming play!!! The children will be performing The Lorax on stage at the preschool on Sunday, January 26th from 3:00-6:00pm!!!

A list of your child's group along with their songs has been sent home. Here is a copy of the groups, along with links to everyone's song. (Please note that the songs weren't taken from the links word-for-word. They've all been simplified to a preschool-version. The links are just to help you with the tune.) Also, costumes can be anything from The Lorax. (Think bright and wacky!)
