Holiday Pics and **IMPORTANT INFORMATION**

Hello everyone!

I'll start with the important information:

Our Winter Play Date has been CHANGED! The Winter Play will now be Sunday, January 26th from 3:00-5:00pm.  The Winter Play is going to be The Lorax. Information about costumes will be sent home within the next couple weeks, but incase you want to get a head start on putting together a "Lorax" costume, here are some suggestions: Your costume can be anything that has to do with the movie The Lorax.
-a Barbaloot (a.k.a. cute little bears who love marshmallows)
-a Thneedville citizen (think wacky hair, bright colors, etc.)
                        -the Lorax himself.
Your child's costume certainly does not have to be something listed above. Please be creative! And if you need a little inspiration, I would recommend reading The Lorax book with your child and have them decide what they want to be!

And now I have for you some fun preschool pictures that were taken the last week before holiday break:

We love volunteers! Chelsea's grandma volunteered for an entire morning the day of our holiday program. She was so great with the kids, and she {hopefully} had a LOT of fun! Here she is reading to the children:

And here are some sweet girls doing some cozy reading in the "warming shack" that was setup in the big room:

And here is Averi's mom, Lindsey saving the day by occupying the preschoolers by reading to them moments before their holiday program:

And finally here is our good CCP friend, Santa, surprising everyone with a visit to their holiday program. He surely loved the children's songs!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break! I know many of you took some looooooong car trips that I'm sure imprinted some life-lasting memories for your family! I can speak for myself when I say I've missed all your children and believe it or not, am eager to get back to preschool!

See you soon,

Ms. Jakki

Parent's Night Out Pics

Hi there!!

I want to give a big thank you to all who came out for Parent's Night Out; it was a blast! The kids got to party in their PJ's, eat as many whipped cream waffles as they wanted (I don't know who ate more, Deante, or Collin??), bounce their hearts out in the bouncy house, play hockey; but I think the funnest activity had to be flashlight tag with Ms. Patti! Here are some pics from the night:

Happy December means Happy SNOWDAY! I just wanted to send out a BIG thanks to all who helped us during our animal unit by bringing animals in to share with the children. Here are some highlights from Animal month:

The Aquarium came to visit with live animals and animal artifacts:

Here is Anne from Woodland Hills who brought in bunnies, chickens, and this lovely Llama (<-who so excitedly went numero dos four times in the gym...I'm sure your child told you all about it!):

Averi brought in her guinea pig, Thumper:

And here is Leighton with his HUGE dog, Birch:

We now move into our December unit: The World Around Us. During this unit, the preschoolers will be taking a deeper look at what makes them unique as a person, and then learn of the world outside of themselves by exploring local neighborhoods, learning about our city, and compare and contrasting the cultures of the people around them.

This week we are sending home a Winter Interview page. Please have your child fill this out and return it to school by December 13th. If you'd like to include photos on the page feel free, otherwise your child may draw their pictures.

I hope everyone has a fantastic snow day!
